The Warner Robins Industry Now Group, known
as WRING; is the industrial arm of the Warner Robins Chamber of
Commerce. Formed in 1972, WRING’s fundamental objective has
remained constant: To promote the economic growth of the Warner
Robins community. WRING was the original group whose sole
purpose was to attract worker & capital intensive enterprises.
In 1973 the Houston County Development
Authority was formed. This well formed organization was better able
to work with region wide groups to attract prospects to our area.
In response to these changes, WRING has evolved
into a strong supporter and advocate for existing businesses in the
Warner Robins and North Houston County Area.
Recent accomplishments were helping publicize
and fund a successful SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Optional Sales
Tax) for new needs and other improvements. Much of the initial
capital publicity and leadership for the 1998 school SPLOST to pas
was provided by WRING. Our Efforts were in response to a SPLOST vote
that failed a year earlier.
In 2003 WRING took on the task of raising money
to fund the 21st Century Partnership in its effort to
protect and expand Robins Air Force Base in the latest round of BRAC
hearings scheduled for 2005. Our goal was $1.25 MILLION and we
received $1.5 MILLION. WRING has outstanding pledges totaling
$86,000.00!
WRING currently has 115 members. Membership
initiation is $1000 with annual dues of $100.
Please contact the Chamber of Commerce for
information about the time and dates of meetings. Come be a part of
the vital organization whose stated effort is the support and
expansion of existing industry in our area.
